Nissan Sucks!

In the past six months, Sara and I have spent over $2,400 for repairs on her 2000 Nissan Maxima. The latest visit to the service center came just 8 days ago to replace a starter that crapped out. So imagine my surprise when Sara called me at the office this afternoon to say that the car wouldn't start again. She was eventually able to get it started, but it seemed like the transmission was starting to fail.

Sara barely drives the thing and it only has 72,000 miles on it. My 2001 Honda Civic has over 120,000 miles and hasn't had nearly as many problems as the Nissan. I think it might be time to dump this POS. But one thing's for certain: we're never buying another Nissan.

I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE with only 87000 miles on it and my service engine light has been going on for over a year. When I bought it 5 years ago, within 1 month, we had to replace a rear O2 sensor. Now, it's not under warranty and it's been misfiring and giving off lean codes for bank 1 and 2. I keep reading about the mass air flow going bad on these cars. I just called Nissan, and they said that open recalls are VIN specific, and mine is not under a recall, which means I have to pay god knows how much to get this fixed. I hate foriegn cars!!!

We bought a 2006 Nissan Xterra new in November 2006. What a mistake. Constant series of malfuntions. This POS required new tires in less than 17,000 miles, replacement of front Brakes (pads andf Rotors) twice in 51,000 miles. Replacement of door latch so the alarm won't sound when its locked. Finally, the tranny and radiator both self destructed in August( the car was 2 1/2 years old w/ 51,000 miles on it and 15 more payments to go). Nissan refused to honor the drivetrain warranty. Nissan consumer affairs failed to return phone calls and left us holding a $7000 repair bill. I believed that Nissan had improved its quality from it former Datsun days. Was I ever wrong. No Nissans ever again!

I bought a "new" nissan which I thought had two hundred kms on it. It turned out this was miles when they replaced my speedometer on a recall. I had the alternator replaced after about 3 months and a couple of break downs. The guy who sold me the car ripped me off. He told me one price and when I got to the dealership and he had put the license plate on the then quoted me a higher price. Finally trying to make car payments to Nissan is unbelievable. Nissan Canada Finance has screwed up my payments several times. The only way they accept payment is by cheque to Nissan in Ontario. Believe or not they have no way to pay online. I will never buy another Nissan and I suggest you don't either!!!

I've owned a 2006 maxima since march. I know thats not that long but I do a lot of traveling for my business.

I've so far put just over 24,000 km on it and the only problem I've had is bald tires.

I feel bad that you have all been having issues with your cars and I wish you the best. Personally my Maxima is the best car I've ever owned.

My Sentra has broken down 18 times in past 4 years due to the same or similar electrical problems. I have a pdf copy of their own service warranty which states “If a defect exists within the warranty period, the warranty will not expire until the defect has been fixed.... If, after a reasonable number of attempts, the defect has not been fixed, the buyer may return this product for a replacement or a refund…”

My truck has been sitting in the shop for 1 month. Nissan told Cottman Trans. In Oldsmar Fl. the part (31705ZH10A Valve Body) would be in by the first week of April. Well! It’s still on Back Order!!! No telling when I’ll get my truck back. Hey Nissan! You guys Stink!!! The bank is going to take my truck from me if I can’t get to my part time job to make payments. Thank you so much! You A-wipes!!! I will never purchase another one of you vehicles again!!! Oh Yea!!! I won’t be able to buy anything after you screw up my credit!!!

2009 nissan altima 48,000 milessmart key is very stupid thing cold wheather no start condition nissan usa said no to problems and repair i am getting a lawyer to search this issue its all over the net seems cold starts no starts are very common with smart key dont freeze out there good luck with the smart no start keys

I own a 2011 Micra...a very bad decision that I regret today. I will anyday buy a 10 year old Honda instead of a piece of crap nissan.

No more Nissan vehicles for me or my family! I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier with about 70K miles on it. Recently, the gas gauge started acting strange and the Check Engine light came on. Our local dealer (Buckeye Nissan) wants $713 to repair. After researching more, I learned that THOUSANDS of others have this same issue once the vehicle reaches 70K+ miles. Now, I can completely understand that a company can't warrant a vehicle forever. However, if the problem results from faulty parts or something in the manufacturing process, THEY SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE! This problem isn't occuring due to abnormal wear or abuse! What is it that the consumer can possibly be doing to cause the sensor to break? Why doesn't Nissan respond with a positive outcome for the many consumers effected by this issue? BOYCOTT NISSAN!
